swimming in the ocean

Blog photos, maybe 007No, I didn’t go swimming in the ocean today.  But I saw some friends (J, R & P) enjoying the sandy beach, with pails and shovels for building castles, now that the temperature has cooled just a little from the record breaking highs of the past few days. The water was so tempting, however, that they couldn’t resist it; dad and little boys splashed and laughed and urged each other on.  I wished my grandkids were with me, so that we could have joined them.

Little goslings, new and fresh, were accompanying a large group of Canada Geese, cruising around Bennett Bay and no doubt taking an interest in the construction going on at the Mayne Inn, checking out kayakers from Blue Vista, or just rocking on the gentle wake of a far off ferry.Blog photos, maybe 013

My partner and I busied ourselves looking for the perfect rock.  I found ones shaped like a butter loaf, covered in faint white circles. Treasure!

My next Magda book (#3) will definitely have more ocean scenes.
