Death of an Old Friend

Standard

With my mind still dwelling on impermanence, I heard that an old friend died today. Alan and I met 41 years ago, when I was living in a dome on the side of Mount Orford. He was kind and generous, two qualities I value. He had qualities I didn’t value, as well, and we often disagreed over the years. We were honest with each other without it damaging our friendship.
I’m glad I knew him. Rest in peace, old friend.
